At ManpowerGroup, we believe that work can change the world. Our company works on the principle of ‘doing well by doing good’. And for more than 70 years, we have been committed to sustainable and meaningful work.
Our ESG approach (formerly ‘CSR’) focuses on the environment, social impact and good governance. Our Working to Change the World plan aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. A mouthful, but that’s how we take our responsibility.
We set the standard in our industry and help people, businesses and society move forward. One job at a time.
We are proud to release our ‘Working to Change the World’ report. The 2023-2024 report provides a detailed overview of how we are building a better, more sustainable future. The themes in the report are in line with the framework of the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) International Business Council Stakeholder Capitalism and include our three focus areas: Planet, People & Prosperity and Governance Principles.
On the way to climate neutrality with more sustainable ways of working.
The health and safety of people and the protection of the environment are paramount. ManpowerGroup aims to be Net Zero globally by 2045. In the Netherlands, we reduce our CO₂ emissions by at least 3.9% annually (2020–2025), according to targets validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative. We are proud that we are the only one in our sector to use scientifically substantiated climate targets.
Meaningful work for everyone.
At ManpowerGroup, we believe in work that matters and is accessible to everyone. We help people develop their talent, through programs such as Experis Academy and MyPath from Manpower. In doing so, we also support young people, refugees and others with a distance to the labor market. At the same time, we are actively committed to diversity and inclusion (DEIB), both within our organization and beyond. In this way, we build employability and meaningful work for everyone.
We believe in responsible and transparent business.
We set high ethical standards for ourselves and for our industry, and follow best practices in good governance. This is how we create sustainable value for all our stakeholders. We do this through open dialogue, strong partnerships and responsible choices. Respect for human rights and social impact is our starting point.
Young talent is the future. We help young people to find their way in the labour market. With insight into work, guidance in choices and practical support such as job application training. We believe that different generations in the workplace reinforce each other by learning from each other. In this way, we use everyone’s potential.
Digitization is rapidly changing the world of work. Some work disappears, but new work also comes in its place. That’s why we help people adapt and learn new skills. This way they remain deployable and we prevent mismatches. And valuable talent is retained for the future.
Everyone has the right to meaningful work. But unfortunately, that is not easy to find for everyone. ManpowerGroup helps people with a distance to the labor market to take the step to work. We don’t look at obstacles, but at talent. In this way, we contribute to an inclusive labour market, more diversity in the workplace and new opportunities for employers.
ESG is neither a bolt-on, an outcome, a nice to have or a fad. It’s a journey, in good times and during challenges, and the only way of doing business to create broader shared value for all.
